How about trying to using Aralia plants for those dark, hot corners of your home or office? The leaves of an Aralia can be lacy, rounded and spinach shaped. The colors range from green, white, gold and cream. The trunks of an Aralia plant are thick, woody and curving which gives it that unique and exotic look.
Aralias ARE NOT good plants for the beginners since it’s not very forgiving and quickly drops leaves if not cared for properly.
Aralia can survive in low light conditions, but grow faster and produce more leaves in medium to bright indirect light.
The main reason an Aralia would die is because of too much water resulting in root rot. Please allow the top 50% of the soil to dry out before watering. In low light conditions, it may only need water as little as every 2-3 weeks.
Aralia plant require very little fertilizer. Only feed the plant every other month when it’s actively growing with a plant food high in nitrogen at ½ the recommended strength.
