Burgundy Rubber Tree

Ficus Elastica Burgundy

The Burgundy Rubber Tree is an indoor plant with thick, glossy leaves that range from a rich burgundy red to almost black. With enough bright light, ample humidity, and careful watering, your Burgundy Rubber Tree will thrive in your home, filling the corner of a room within a few years.

LIGHT

Burgundy Rubber will grow best with consistent, bright, filtered light—which produces the dark, burgundy color of the leaves. The plant can tolerate low light, but the leaves will fade to a lighter green color.

WATER

Content divider

Before watering make sure the top 1-2” of the soil is dry. Once checked, then thoroughly drench until the water drains into the saucer. DO NOT let the plant sit in the saucer of the water because you can drown the roots.

FERTILIZING

These houseplants do not need much fertilizer. Only fertilizer during the Spring and Summer with ½ the recommend strength once a month. No feeding is needed during the Winter months since growth naturally slows down.
