Japanese Aralia or Paper Plant

Fatsia Japonica

The Fatsia plant or Japanese Aralia comes from the sub-tropic forests of Japan,
Korea and Taiwan. Fatsia plants are a type of evergreen plant that can be grown
indoors as a houseplant and or outdoors in frost-free areas. A Fatsia has lush, dark green (hand-shaped) leaves that grow at the ends of stiff stems. Fatsia plants are compact upright plants that can grow up to 6 feet tall indoors and at a rate of 8-12” per year.

LIGHT

Fatsia’s grows best when places in partial to full shade. Exposure to bright,
direct sunlight can bleach the leaves. Place the plant beneath diffused morning
light and never harsh afternoon rays.

WATER

During the Spring and Summer regular moisture is essential for the Fatsia. Water regularly to ensure the soil never dries out and saturate the soil completely so the water runs out from the container’s drainage holes. During the Fall and Winter, cut back on your watering slightly to allow the plant to rest.

FERTILIZER
