Chinese Evergreen

Aglaonema commutatuum

Aglaonema, commonly known as Chinese Evergreens are one of the easiest plants for novice gardeners to grow. Chinese Evergreen rarely exceeding heights of 3 feet and their tidy, upright growth habit makes them suitable for even small households or offices.

LIGHT

Chinese Evergreens are one of the plants that can live in lower light conditions. The darker the leaves and stalks means the less light the plant needs. Avoid direct sunlight because leaves could become scorched.

WATER

These plants require moist soil and high humidity. Allow the top 1-2” to dry out between watering as excessive watering may lead to fungal problems or root rot.

FERTILIZING

These plants need very little fertilizer. Only feed once in the Spring and Summer with a well-balanced food at ¼ the recommended strength.
