Penn State Extension: Tree Tenders® Online Training – $35


The Tree Tenders® Online Training program empowers concerned residents to make dramatic strides towards restoring and caring for the tree canopy in their communities. Join thousands of other concerned citizens like yourself. Become a Tree Tender and help increase tree canopy cover in your community.

 
The course is designed for lay people and experts alike. Become one of the Tree Tenders restoring and tending your part of the forest. Instruction is provided by DCNR’s Bureau of Forestry, in partnership with Penn State Extension, PHS, Tree Pittsburgh and other local urban forestry experts.

    Penn State Extension: Flowering Tree Identification for Home Gardeners - $60


    Flowering trees add long lasting beauty to residential landscapes. In addition to beautiful flowers, they can offer outstanding fall color, ornamental fruit, and lovely bark. At Flowering Tree Identification for Home Gardeners we will practice how to identify these trees using winter as well as seasonal characteristics and discuss attributes of available cultivars to help you improve your outdoor space.
     

    This course is for all persons interested in horticulture. No prior study of woody ornamental plants is required. Join us for classroom time and field study, if the weather permits, so please dress appropriately!
