Penn State Extension: Fall Garden Observations: Beginning a Botanical Sketchbook – $5
In this Fall Garden Observations: Beginning a Botanical Sketchbook webinar, students will begin a sketchbook of observations and fill it with graphite, watercolor, and pen art as they explore a different aspect of the natural world. Botanical art draws together art and science in this time-honored genre. Draw leaves, flowers, fungi, and more and sow the seeds for a lifetime love of drawing and documenting botanical specimens. Watch for information or draw along!
The goal for this webinar is to have fun and make it your own! No experience required! Your instructor will be using the following materials: a Stillman and Birn Zeta series sketchbook, graphite pencils, eraser, a Micron pen, and watercolors and brushes.
Artist materials are not required – you can use any blank paper (unlined is best), pencils, erasers, and waterproof pen (if you plan to paint over your line drawing), colored pencils or watercolor paints, and brushes. Please provide your own botanical specimens.
