The green industry has responded to this demand for trained professionals by creating certification programs. This four day Arborist Short Course is designed to increase working tree knowledge, professional arborist skills and prepare you for the ISA Certified Arborist exam, which should improve your marketability.

    Backyard Chickens with Maureen Breen – $10

    Maureen will teach you how easy it is to raise a backyard flock. Learn everything from choosing the right chicks, setting up a coop, and keeping them happy & healthy year-round.

     

    Maureen is also an advocate for legalizing backyard chickens in Philadelphia, you can request to join their Facebook group Philadelphia Backyard Chickens here. This group is for everyone living in the Greater Philadelphia area. They are a valuable resource for all things chicken related & the group is always willing to answer your chicken questions!

    Learn the art of Japanese hanging string gardens. Based on a form of bonsai, these moss covered hanging orbs make wonderful living gifts. Cost includes; hands-on instruction, easy care houseplant and all materials. This is a very hands workshop, so be prepared to get messy!
