Success with Crapemyrtles

Looking for success with Crapemyrtles? Be patient!

With the coldest March and April in decades, we simply haven’t had very many days to warm the soil yet. With the cold, the crapes are a bit tardy this year. They will be growing extremely fast in a few weeks, and covered with flowers for months by mid summer! In areas with reflected heat from a wall, yours may be further along than this one. There is still time to do some major pruning, thinning, and limbing-up, because they bloom on new growth only.
