Margie Robins, our very own orchid guru, will be hosting two orchid workshops this fall. If you would like to sign-up for Margie’s Orchid Post, a seasonal orchid newsletter with growing tips and insider knowledge on new orchid shipments, you can contact margie@primexgardencenter.com
Sunday, October 7th @ 10am
Intro to Orchids: An overview of basic orchid growing techniques for beginners. Despite having a reputation for being difficult, many types of orchids can easily be grown without a greenhouse. Modern breeding and production techniques have created hundreds of new cultivars that will thrive in a home environment. This introductory class will cover watering, fertilizing, light requirements, repotting, and methods to encourage reblooming in a non-greenhouse environment. Students may bring an orchid to class with instructor permission.
Sunday, October 14th @ 10am
Caring for Your Moth Orchid: Frequently given as gifts, moth or phalaenopsis orchids are easy to grow when we follow a few simple guidelines. If you are only interested in keeping one orchid alive this class will teach you how. Margie will address watering, fertilizing, light requirements, re-potting and methods to encourage re-blooming. Students may bring an orchid to class with instructor permission.
