Pantry at LUMC

Donations for Hurricane Sandy Relief Efforts in New Jersey

Supplies were taken to Lacey United Methodist Church (LUMC) in Ocean County. They are currently housing over 200 people and serving as a distribution point serving thousands of residents from Barnegat to Brick Township. If you would like to volunteer, please call 609-693-5222.  They need volunteers to cook or deliver meals (3 daily), sort & deliver supplies, and help clean out damaged homes.  Please visit their Facebook page for daily updates https://www.facebook.com/pages/LUMC-Lacey-United-Methodist-Church/140653852637462

UPDATE 11-13-12: LMUC cannot accept additional supplies at this time, there’s just not enough room for storage. Thank you to everyone who donated!

You can still make a monetary donation at any of our cash registers which will go directly to LUMC to help residents who lost their homes in the storm. Or send a check to the address below made out to LUMC Sandy Relief Efforts.

Update from LUMC on Saturday, Nov. 10

If you are looking for a way to help and have some free time, please consider volunteering!!! Our volunteers have been amazing! We have many volunteer opportunities – sorting donations, preparing meals, delivering meals, and working in the community with residents that need free clean-up assistance! Stop by at your convenience…our doors are always open!!!

We are currently in need of the following items:

- black contractor garbage bags – bottled water

-surgical masks (or stronger for mold areas)

-mops, brooms, scrubbies/brushes – rubber gloves

- gallon ziplock bags -rubbermaid totes

-batteries; 9-volt/D/AA

- Tyvec suits and chalklines

- Clothing items: baby/kids clothes under size 12, heavy coats, boots

Due to space restrictions we are unable to accept any additional clothing at this time. Thank you for your generosity and understanding! We would not be able to help as many people as we have without your donations!

Supplies have started to fill the pews!
