Primex is proud to be a sponsor for the re-opening of the Nicetown Boys and Girls Club. We donated trees and perennials to highlight the exterior of the newly rehabilitated 105 year old building. Thomas J. Mulvey, Life Scout Troop 542, took on the landscaping project to achieve his Eagle Scout award and we were happy to help him reach his goal while benefiting the Nicetown community in Philadelphia. The Shane Victorino Foundation generously donated nearly $1 million to rehab the entire building, which is now named in his honor. David Green and Joan Lagan attended the dedication of the building on September 22nd where they were able to meet Shane Victorino and his family. They were impressed by the support from the community and moved by Victorino’s emotional speech at the event.
Primex also donated cool-season vegetables and pansies to the new KaBoom! playground at the Nicetown Club. Our own Carolyn Booker, Master Gardener, volunteered her time to help establish the new vegetable garden. Master Gardeners, along with an enthusiastic group of volunteers, installed five raised beds over a period of 2 days. Carolyn is delighted to see this former eyesore in her community turn into a sparking gem decked out in beautiful plants.

on October 5, 2011 at 11:45 amI would personally like to thank David and Joan for their generous donation to this project. Through their support, my newphew, Thomas, was able to be an important part of the rehabilition of this beautiful building and to achieve his goal of Eagle Scout. It was a honor to work with all the people who made that possible!
