    Green City Teachers Basic Training – $50


    PHS Green City Teachers is a 5-session course that uses experiential learning (yes, get your hands dirty!) to help teachers, educators, administrators, scout leaders, individuals, parents, gardeners, and informal educators gain the skills to integrate horticultural and environmental education into curricula, after-school programs, and service-learning projects. Topics include basic horticulture, food gardening, STEM in the garden, indoor gardening, and habitat gardens. For educators of pre-school, K- 12.  YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A TEACHER, AND YOU DO NOT NEED TO WORK IN PHILADELPHIA to attend.

     

    Take-aways include lesson plans, lesson supplies, books, and plant material. After completing the course, participants are given the opportunity to apply for up to $500 worth of in-kind support for their chosen project.
    Come play with plants and get credit for it! Up to 15 hours of Act 48 credit are available for PA Public School teachers.

     

    This series runs October 16, 23, 30, and November 6, and 13.
