The 5th Annual Healthy Trails 5k in Tacony Creek Park, hosted by the Tookany/Tacony-Frankford Watershed Partnership, in collaboration with Philadelphia Parks & Recreation, Friends Hospital, the Scattergood Foundation, the Philadelphia Water Department and Latinas in Motion. The race will be an out & back 5k run with an accompanying walk, starting at Friends Hospital, crossing the historic Fishers Lane Bridge and connecting with the Tacony Creek Park trail. Proceeds from the race will support programs and stewardship in Tacony Creek Park through the efforts of the Tookany/Tacony-Frankford Watershed Partnership (TTF). TTF’s mission is to improve the health and vitality of the Tookany/Tacony-Frankford Creek and watershed by engaging our communities in education, stewardship, restoration and advocacy. Pet owners are invited to learn about a outdoor pet safety initiative Sunday, April 9 at Primex Garden Center. Wagging tails will enjoy the Safe Paws event at the garden center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Safe Paws, sponsored in partnership with Espoma and Primex Garden Center, will include local dog rescue groups, adoptable dogs and cats, and more from local vendors.
**All dogs in attendance must be leashed, tagged and properly vaccinated.**
